Hardly a glamour tie for us but spare a thought for the 69 who went all that way tonight which according to Google Maps the distance between the two grounds is 345 miles and 5 hrs 49.

Went to watch Harrogate play Torquay last Saturday and the official attendance was given as 1,385 with 294 away fans (looked quite a contingent there). Damn good support for a non-League club facing a 5+ hour journey of 300+ miles !

I'll be happy to go to Crewe. Up until 2007 I used to live in Southampton and used to go to Stoneham Lane when couldn't get to Reds' games. Could only go to Reds Saturday home games and nearby away games (Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Southampton, Swindon etc) - but Oakwell was a 444 mile round trip. I used to leave home c.8:30 a.m and get back c.9:30 p.m. - I obviously have a very understanding wife !

I’ve nothing but admiration for Torquay supports. I haven’t checked up on it but when we played Blackburn a few weeks back we called into Chorley for a few beers before hand. The local bobbies came into the boozer and told us they were expecting 500 Torquay fans traveling up who were playing Chorley that same day.

like I said I hadn’t checked up on the stats so not sure how accurate it is, but at the time I found that very impressive for a non league game.
