I've heard the exec boxes are been held back for NON ST holders. When the cheap seats sell out. Then to try and get them into Oakwell on a more regular basis as an incentive the tickets will be FREE, inclusive of free parking, free programme, waitress service, free pie and peas, meet and greet the players both pre and post match, complimentary signed match worn shirts and topless bar staff (females only) Hooters stylee. Don't shoot the messenger. Just what I heard.
Just going to clarify that my complaint wasn't particularly serious or heartfelt as I'd already stated I was fortunate enough to get a ticket. I just feel that a two tier system is wrong regardless of who benefits from it and who misses out. If you're doing a tier thing for rich versus poor then they should have done one for each stand too as different stands would have different capacities just as the exec boxes have different capacities to the normal stands. And if you're doing that you should really differentiate between those who stumped up more cash for reserved plus as part of that payment promised priority for tickets. Then surely you have to prioritise long standing fans etc? You can't please everyone, it was a rush job. I just personally think it should have been a case of everyone is a Barnsley fan, everyone is equal. As I say I was lucky, I got a ticket, it didn't effect me. It's more the principle really. I have the upmost sympathy for anyone who missed out, be that an exec box sitting fan or a normal fan
Not a serious complaint but I’m going to list reason why I’m not seriously complaining, one more time.
I think it is fair to say that exec boxes are totally different to regular seats, and can see why they did a separate ballot for that. The fact that you stood a greater risk of losing out should be taken into account. It isn't a rich v poor situation. To do separate stands is just too much. Plus I'm sure they've rushed this through no fault of their own.
