Good on him, same with the cantona incident, only thing he did wrong was to not kick him hard enough , the guy ran from the top of the stand spouting vile abuse and it backfired, then he s***t himself like your typical cowardly yob, you see all these idiots week in week out thinking its acceptable to hurl disgraceful abuse at players, no one should have to put up with that no matter how much they get paid , end of the day they,re human beings and will react to abuse of their loved ones as everyone else would...
Disagree. He's at work and shouldn't react like that. Like I said earlier, I and my colleagues are abused daily but we respond to this in a professional manner. So what makes a professional footballer so special?
nothing makes footballers special, the difference is, the people that you work with have mental health issues and i would imagine its down to a condition rather thane being a mindless yob trying to act the big man...
There's no difference at all. The majority of people I work with despite being in-patients have capacity. This means their behaviour is not beyond their control and further that they will be charged when we get assaulted. It is expected that we get abused but it is not acceptable.
Its unbelievable what fans at football matches think its acceptable to shout or chant. I recently watched a BBC documentary series about the Yorkshire Ripper which included footage of the fans at Bellend Rd singing "One Yorkshire Ripper...". Absolutely sickening.
I also heard that it was abuse aimed at his family. Not that it matters; fans have no right to be abusive.
And abusing family is beyond the pale. I was 100% behind Stephen Dawson when he confronted some of our fans who were giving him abuse about his wife.
