    First pro. match I ever saw live. Was England v Windies, Headingly 1969. Tbh I don't remember much. Boycott. Endrich, Sobers I think we're the biggest names at the time. I'm pretty sure we were sat on the grass in the outfield. Just outside the boundary. (A School trip)

    Edrich taking guard with his right elbow stuck out .
    Boycott with his immaculate forward defensive position.
    Oh and Sobers the best player ever.. he could bowl slowish spinners or medium pace and would have got in any side on his batting alone… not forgetting his close fielding and catching.

    Fair assumptions ( Will Labuschagne get picked ? ).
    Biggest advantage to them is the home draw and the fact that their bowling attack is so far clear of ours especially if Wood and Archer aren’t available.

    Don't think so. Probably 6 wides with the bowler having to bowl another. With byes he doesn't.

    I'll look out for that Chinese next time we go.

    Gigspanner were a bit disappointing last night and my other half got bored so left at half time to go for a cliff top walk. I wanted to stay and, sure enough, they got better in the second half. It was still not as good as I anticipated, not knowing any of their stuff, but the musicianship was top rate. Just a bit self-indulgent at times.

    The absence of the Salt Path woman, Raynor Winn, was no loss for me. I didn't want to hear her droning on anyway - she's been withdrawn from the tour while investigations are ongoing into her activities.

    Back in 1876, both teams decided to play regular matches alternating between Aus and England venues.
    They won the draw so it was in Australia etc etc.
    I know cos I was there !

    I'd make some changes. Dawson in for Bashir is forced but I'd be tempted to drop Woakes for Atkinson and try to find a way for Bethel to play. Whether that be dropping Crawley and asking Pope to open with Duckett?

    Was it Boycott that said the other week it's harder be dropped than be picked. India have a few injuries and had to do a call up. I think if Bumrah is only going to play 1 of the remaining tests it has to be this one.
