    Has Hameed ever held a bat before? I hate to say it, but his performance in this test so far has been Panesar-esque... without the spin bowling.

    Hammed the modern day Hick of never being able to show on the international stage county form. If we are going back to giving people yet another chance to prove they are good enough they might as well recall Lyth or Jennings.

    Talking about hameed he must be given a chance though, one innings and the usual comments will come, give him the chances Sibley, Crawley, Lawrence etc have had.

    he’s a talented lad that might just need a run

    Can’t write hameed off after one ball. He should be opening, instead of the bloke that can’t play a single shot on the off side and hits the one shot he can play in the air, straight to a fielder.

    I'm all for giving people a chance. But I'd fancy most of our tailenders to get bat on a half volley thats done absolutely nothing.

    Having said that, picking our top six is akin to shuffling deckchairs on the titanic.

    Get rid of Sibley or Burns. It's the lack of scoring that's giving bowlers the confidence. They're just waiting for wickets.

    I think they get more confidence from us either missing straight balls, edging wide ones or lobbing easy catches up in the air for them!
