Though I'm sure the niggling doubt was there about how poor our top order is, I think the choice to bowl wasn't that bad looking at the pitch and overhead. We haven't bowled that well and when we have out it in the right place the Indian openers have played well and left very well. Nowhere near the shocker Hussain had.
Bowling day, batting pitch. Still bat 1st. Now when they bat they might well have the pressure of trying to save the game from the off. They could have been 40-3 which is the norm lately but this is just flogging the bowlers to death, and they aren't the problem.
Ah, the old put in a first and second slip, then someone in the middle of nowhere only for the ball to go straight through third slip.
Commentators on both sky and BBC think it's a good pitch. Doesn't look that green on my screen, (maybe I need to get a colour one)!
Funny how they change their tune though. Most of the sky pundits wanted to bowl first before the toss.
David lloyd and Ian ward aren't too impressed. Go back to what I said earlier, good toss to lose. Might not seem so bad then. Need some wickets to level the day.
If they bowl a little fuller and nearer to off, if an edge carries, its a completely different picture. Credit where its due though, India have batted well. In the same situation I suspect we'd be a long way down our batting order.
Wouldn't bet against it. He shows no sign of retirement and is still our best bowler. We are far too reliable on him as well.
Rain only thing can save us again. As top order (bar root) are a shambles. India will get about 450 and my money is on us 100 or 120 for 5. Rain due sat and sun . Rain is our best player.
