Bit of sympathy for Ali. Thought he was got out by a good ball. Curran’s attempt at a defensive shot was woeful though.
It's the mentality that gets me. You can't win. So now you have to think, unless it's hitting my stumps, i'm not playing it.
It should be the absolute base level of batting, to have a decent idea where your off stump is. And common sense that once you can't win, you have to eliminate shots that could get you out. Should only be two modes of dismissal now. Bowled or lbw.
Can still be caught of a ball thats inline with or very close to the stumps though woudnt put it past us to manage a run out
very good but I posted that when THEY only had 3 wickets to go - and actually there were 4 results possible when I posted it
Deliveries like that are unbelievably rare. If you hang your bat in line with off stump, the chances of the bowler getting the nick are incredibly remote.
Not played professionally obviously, but I opened batting in my youth and carried my bat quite a bit, at a time when not getting out as an opener was valued. It's not that hard. All it takes is discipline. If you get a good ball, so be it. But just know your off stump, play the line of it, leave anything not hitting the stumps, dead bat with soft hands anything thats hitting.
Buttler, just why? And why on earth does Nick Knight think thats an amazing delivery when its 5th/6th stump line and high enough to leave on length?
You obviously know what you're talking about. Just wondering why you only comment when things have been negative but nothing for the 2 good days when England performed very well. It's been a very enthralling test!
Sibley and Burns have scored 60 between them in 2 innings........... You can't carry on like that!!! Embarrassing. ........
India deserved the win, after weather prevented the match concluding at Trent Bridge. We had our chances though, but we need to step up next test.
How the **** did they manage to lose that game? Too many players not pulling their weight. Bad decision to bat first. Absolutely gutless!!!
I rarely post at weekends. Other than the wickets summarised, I didn't see any of the play live. Just so happens England did better on those two days (well, Root did well). Likewise, I didn't see the Barnsley game until I watched the full replay early this morning, so didn't comment on it until then.
We were in with a chance of winning today because of roots batting, but his captaincy has thrown it away. A bit of patience in the field and we’re chasing 180-200. Instead, we lose by 150.
