Big question is...are we going to promote the white ball guys and have a go?

 

He doesn't have the patience or calmness that Vaughan, Strauss and Cook showed. Can't imagine him in a position like Edgbaston '05 or Trent Bridge '13. Add to that his treatment of players like Archer and Ali, it doesn't add up to much captaincy wise.

Similarly with Silverwood. How many players have improved under his coaching, in comparison with Fletcher and Flower? (not sure Bayliss did much either)

It's bizarre how an inability to bring the bat down straight can cause a leading edge like that.

Wheels came off plenty of times under Cook tbf, Strauss and Vaughan less so.

He's not the only one, technique from most of our players is all over the shop.

 

Maybe, and tbf Vaughan was helped by having fast bowlers and Strauss had Graeme Swann.

But under Root, these capitulations seem inevitable quite quickly.
