I like Stendell and his coaching team.....a lot. I hear very good positive vibes from within and from the players and I believe he is a very good fit for our football club. Our recruotment policy will kind of dictate his success...but imho i didnt think we would be top 6 before a ball was kicked...now i am very optimistic of a top 4 finish which is fine by me. Just hope we can reduce selling our players the second we get any kind of offer in.
I think the January transfer window will be crucial and a big decider in how we close out the season. We firstly have to keep hold of the key players. We will also know where our weak links are in our squad, either with fitness, ability and cover. We should strengthen to manage our push and the recruitment must be spot on to build on what we have and add more quality. Also others around us will be looking to strengthen so we will see the competition change. Stendel's support for the club recruitment will be a good test of his input given we haven't seen a lot of new players come in so far.
We don't have to go for really expensive older guys. One or two in the squad would be a good thing. Who are our young lads learning off? We have nobody older in the squad they can come to that's been there, done that, that they can pick the brain of. We have a squad of too similar guys. Lowering the talent pool of possible signings by being ageist will have played a part in our relegation and the same if we don't go straight back up. With our squad and wage bill we should be going straight back up automatically. If we don't go up but make the play offs, we shall see but I would probably keep him. If we don't make the top six then we probably should change the head coach because it would be quite rightly called a bad season. But I am confident it won't come to that.
I don't think he should be sacked but I think if we've not reached the Play Off final or finished top 2 this season will be a disappointment. This season we're blessed with a relatively settled squad that was brought together 18 months ago, quite expensively people said, to stay in the Championship. If that group can't get us promoted to the Championship & with one of, if not the biggest budget in the league then it'll be disappointing & I can see why people may want to see him go.
Bit confused with that. Just talking about how a series of key injuries together and / or players sold can drastically change a season & if it happens again like it has a few times in recent years then Stendel shouldn’t be judged harshly
Depends on how motivated you want them to be I suppose. We could get an experienced pro for a reasonable wage, but would he improve us if he was just here for a wage?
