https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2021/march/2122-membership-information/ That was this season which was £50 cheaper than next but included a replica shirt and didn't include a £7 charge to fans because the club decided to change cards from a seasonal membership to a season ticket. Whichever way you look at it there is no price freeze. Early Bird isn't a problem as the club give an incentive to fans to purchase early for less so they have a better idea of the budget they are working with. My two gripes with the Early Bird would be.... 1) For this season it lasted a month longer than last season. See the link it started early March not early April and goes on to a similar date. 2) It isn't those of us who have already got one that needs the £135 discount. Surely it would be better to give it to those who want a season ticket who can't afford one.
It will be interesting to see if the club tells us on the 1st of May how many s/ts were sold during early bird. I doubt they will. If it were 10000 they'd trumpet it loud and clear but if it's 1000 we may hear nothing. People are not going to rush to renew once the price goes up in May, there's no point. It will still be the same price in August.
Is that right? That’s ******* atrocious customer service? Whatever the rights and wrongs of the early bird they are least need to give folks the same amount of time to book if they want to spread costs as they give to those paying in full.
The only difference is I think seats are reserved until the end of May. But I agree why anyone would buy once the price goes up is lost on me. If someone isn't renewing in April because money is tight I don't see how I price hike would help them in May.
Total shambles. I appreciate this isn't a option for everyone but if I were looking to spread the cost I would just be doing a search for 12 months interest free on purchases credit card.
I think the EB will be extended. No finance more than half way into the window, and probably relegated by next week. If Khaled has ‘99.9% autonomy’, then this on him. Unless every bad decision is attributed to the 0.01%.
Yes, sadly it's true. I've done a walk through of the renewal process every day up to the point of payment options (or option singular as it stands!)
With this still being the case it would be commercial suicide not to. Like you I can appreciate a commercial business running EB offers but they need to be accessible to all for the same amount of time. They should have finalised the cost spread options before marketing. Another very basic error they shouts incompetence to an already exasperated customer base.
Where’s this significant good news Gally mentioned? Unless it’s we’re being taken over can’t see it but f much interest, o unless it’s a new variant of flatbread that still wouldn’t be available in the Ponty
Good point well made. Our official website is always quick to tell us about sales, so we will see if that's the same this time around.
