    Credit to them. They were the only lowest ranked side out of eight to over achieve by getting out the group stage and now look on course for the last eight.

    Funny isn't it. The Dutch and the Italians were bigger up after their group games as the best two teams.
    Italy were well held by Austria for 90 minutes yesterday, and the Dutch look to be going out at the hands of the Czechs today.
    England beat the Czechs comfortably...
    Is it coming home?

    I got Czech Republic in the work sweepstake and was feeling a bit down with that before the tournament. Looking a bit better now though that’s for sure.

    I think it was one of the bbc commentators who forecast that the Dutch wouldn’t progress too far after they beat the Ukraine 3-2 in the group stages

    Holland had the easiest group of the lot. Turns out they aren’t that good.

    Whoever goes out in us & Germany are going to feel like they’ve missed out on a huge chance to reach a final.

    I said exactly the same. Brilliant going forward at times, but their defence was clearly far too flimsy to go very far.
