I doubt there is another squad in the championship that is as devoid of quality up front as ours is. There is something seriously wrong if they haven't been looking at players.

Just remember there were people giving the transfer window 8 & 9 out of 10 on here!

Tbf Kane and James were positives, we didn't sell anyone and Woodrow extended his contract. I think a lot of us felt relieved we didn't lose Woodrow or Mowatt.

All fair points but we only really needed one central midfielder & we were desperate for a forward. We’re now in a situation where one injury means we’re relying on strikers who are league 2 standard at best whilst we’ve got a midfielder sat on the bench that we paid over a million for.

who is one injury away from starting so I dont think that can be used as an argument. Actually I think we probably werent expecting James or we think he wont be fit to play all games which is why Kane was signed but we do need at least 1 striker I think thats obvious to anyone

Steady on mate....in a former life I was a bricky's apprentice. Now I'm a concert pianist (Ok I lied about that bit) but I do renovate vintage watches for a hobby which is quite fiddly

He seems to be 5th choice central midfielder with only 2 spots available or 4th choice of Styles is playing wing back. Regardless of Kane I don’t think the window could ever be described as successful when we didn’t get a forward in

If Ismael can get Adeboyejo up and running and scoring goals - then I will say he is a great coach. However, he sees him in training, which most people on here don't. No he hasn't impressed on the pitch yet - and his loan spells have not been earth shattering. However he is physically imposing and ought to be able to use that to his advantage. I am not writing him off just yet....let's wait and see. George Miller may be waiting to blossom also ---I'll go and lie down a bit now....

Agreed mate, we don't see them perform in training, but if Valerian can get Victor up and running and scoring goals in the Championship then he'll be a miracle worker in my eyes and will be labelled as the new Messiah :)

I was thinking more on the lines of the new " Paul Daniels " but the new Messiah is probably more appropriate !

VI has no option but to 'go with what he has got' and he has to support and motivate Cauley and Victor to the best performances they can produce, which explains the comment. We seem to have been unfortunate not to land Kulenovic and I am 100% sure that, unless Cauley and Victor score a goal a game until January, striker will be the position which is top priority to strengthen. I was going to suggest Jonathan Clarke-Harris from Bristol Rovers, but he then went to replace Toney for one million to Peterborough. We could have afforded him. I don't know the European leagues well enough, but our own leagues are looking a bit threadbare. Hardie at Plymouth might be worth looking at - seems to score and create regularly in a good side, but i have not seen him enough really to make a good judgement.

Ryan Hardie is on loan for the season at Plymouth from Blackpool, having been loaned there in January 2020 in the first place. 23 years old; 6'1" tall. Good record at Rangers and Scottish Youth sides. Cheeky £250k bid to Blackpool? We could afford this one, although he would be another development project. One I rate, though, as someone to look at in the future.

Victor's not the real problem though, it's Chaplin and Schmidt that's the problem their the next in line after Woodrow and were both terrible against Cardiff that's why Victor got brought on.. Fair do's Chaplin runs about a bit but he has very little impact on a game as for Schmidts I don't know where to start.
