I thought that's what a triage was for. Not worthy of A & E and just wasting time, off ya go If you need an emergency appointment at a GP forget it, they wont budge nothing to fit you in, so why should A & E (General comments not aimed at anyone specific)
There should be a fast track system for genuine accident/emergencies and a slow track system for anyone who turns up with something that their GP could and should be handling. The slow track would involve standing in a queue outside, around the edge of the car park, regardless of the weather.
The problem is that the NHS is such an absolute shambles that for many their GP is so inaccessible that the only way to seek medical help is to go to a&e.
I think the issue is that it often needs someone to check them over to assess the severity. By which time they may have well sorted their issue out...
