Wood replaces Broad, Anderson fit. Hameed for Crawley. Ali for Lawrence.

    Sharma back for India.

    Isn't it Ali for Lawrence?

Who's won the toss DWL? Didn't Anderson declare himself fit a few tests back then hardly take any part in the match?

Ignoring none of us wanting Ali. I like the balance of that attack. Off spinner, swing bowler, line and length seamer, genuine quick and a left armer. That'll keep the batsmen on their toes.

Beg your pardon, Curran is playing. Not sure how my fingers typed Curran when my head was thinking Lawrence!

England won toss and going to bowl. Been a bit of rain, a very slight tinge to the pitch, very grey overhead and very muggy.

I think they keep getting themselves in a muddle because the top order batting is so poor, they feel the need to strengthen the lower order to eek out as many runs as possible. That means picking bowlers on their batting ability rather than their bowling skills.

Yep. Trying to solve one problem by creating new ones. Yet, if they sort out the top three and get a decent platform, then a 4-8 of Root, Bairstow, Buttler, Curran, Robinson would be good enough to then bring in Bess or Leach.
