I know who you are buddy. I know who you all are **crazed laughter**. And yes, you're definitely not backwards in coming forward.
They would have had notice that he wasn’t going to resign a new contract and I would be amazed if these guys didn’t have confidentiality clauses in the contract.
I love Red Rain. But I'll never forget him binning his report and then his entertainment index in complete confusion as Val trampled over everything.
Sensitive information !! My word we are a championship football club not the secret service, no doubt he would have signed a confidentially clause in his contract but maybe it might be worth the next CEO to sign the Official Secrets act , you do come out with some corkers ST
I listen a US Sports Radio Station and they really do ask some pretty pointed questions , and they are not afraid of going after Owners, Coaches , Players. The folk associated with the teams are obligated to do.media or they get massive fines by the League , thus they get asked all sorts of questions and cannot pull up the drawbridge
I did not like the system, as you know. I thought it made us look like a Wimbledon and I did not like the system when they played that way either. That way of playing got them to the First Division, but I always said that I hated their style. When Barnsley began to play that way, I simply maintained my principles. I hated the style and I hated that Barnsley were playing that way. For me, It did not matter that it was successful, because that is not the way to play the game, in my opinion. I was consistent when many others were not. My argument was never that Ismael did not know what he was doing. He did know what he was doing, because he did know what he was doing. It was that I did not like what he was doing, in spite of it being successful.
I’m glad you can look back on it like that. My recollection was that you insisted we didn’t have the players for the system and as a result you were doubting the Head Coach. You were vocal about this before any of us (including yourself) understood what the style was. So your first reaction was to question someone in a specialist role.
I binned my report because I was sick of writing the same things after every game, and I assumed that everyone else would be equally sick of reading them, as well. I fully intended to bring it back when conditions changed later in the season, but conditions did not change. I binned my Entertainment Index because of the amount of criticism it received when I launched it originally. I did not want to spend a lot of time defending it when I was not even convinced of its merits myself. However, I continued to produced the index for the rest of the season, and I continued to compare it with my own views of Ismael's tactics, and particularly my view on the entertainment value of his tactics. The Entertainment Index did not support my view on the entertainment content of Ismael's system, and I have since accepted that my objections to Ismael's system could therefore only be down to personal taste. I still do not like Ismael's system last season and would much rather that Barnsley played in the manner of Danny Wilson's way of playing the game. The Entertainment Index is back, and I plan to feature it heavily in future Minority Reports. Nevertheless, I am not sure that I have the right name for the index, and new name suggestions would be welcomed. It will be joined by a Performance Index.
In response to the opening post this is my view... " Were speaking to current Wednesday Manager (insert current victim) so apart from the obvious referee bias and the blatant denial of 4 penalties why did we lose 3-0 at home to Barnsley" ???
