    That's not how football works. A value is decided based on the age, ability & contract length a player has.

    A 22 year old with 2 years left on his deal is always more likely to go for more money than a 25 year old with 1 year left on his contract.

    I'm certain that over 90% of Barnsley fans would say Hourihane is a better player than Mawson.
