The net effect isn't as attractive though is it? We're led to believe they paid over £1m for him in the first place. And what happened with stendels contract, did they silently pay the compensation for sacking him? And for getting new coaches (which have now left), and the new new coaches? And any pay off to get rid of Tonge and Stern? Plus we'll likely have to pay compensation for the next unknown who was really top of their list. When you tot all those things up, have we actually made a contribution to profit? If we're really up the creek with no paddles and our alleged billionaires were unwilling to offer a lender of last resort facility, then selling all assets and using cheaper self grown talent would be the answer. It may not get success on the field (tomarto tomayto) but it would generate surplus cash to fulfil creditor obligations and massively reduce the wage bill til we understand when or if we are able to get back to something more typical.
I read this all the time. But if there's nothing to communicate, what are they supposed to do. Don't get me wrong, there's been instances in the past where communication could have been better, but on the whole, the club often remains silent when they can't say something for legal reasons, or when there's nothing to say. A mate of mine wanted a club statement about the poor run of form at the start of last season, and I asked him, what do you want them to say? He couldn't give me a straight answer, and eventually settled on something down the lines of, 'I just want them to acknowledge that we're ****'. I said, what good will that do? He didn't know. They could come out and say Struber is staying or leaving, but maybe the club don't know yet either.
