    Another class interview and Dale was very open. Just waiting now for Simon Davey to get his chance to respond to all the claims made about him now :D The manager of our longest championship run for some time, got us to an FA Cup semi final and signed us some class players including with Steele/Muller having the best keeper duo in my time watching us.

    But yes he wasn't a nice bloke and not someone you could take to. Which is a shame as he did well with us.

    He certainly is a very smart bloke is Martin. Saw him outside the Club shop with Bobby Hassell once
    and he was wearing some expensive looking gear. One of the best crossers of the ball we've ever had
    at the Club. Loved that particular period of our history.

    I take great comfort from the words " don't envisage a time when I return to these shores
    ( re- UK) on a permanent basis. Good.

    The photograph in the article flatters him and must have been taken before as Rick Holden
    commented " he was pumped up."

    There are not many folks I don't get on with and I usually bide my time before I pass judgement
    on anyone, but there was something about Davey I couldn't take to and admit I was quite glad when
    he left the Club.
