OK. I'm thinking of a situation at work where maybe taking stationery or a laptop home for your own use isn't technically allowed but it happens. You have a staff member you want rid off , catch them doing it and sack em. Even though there's others doing the same that get away with it.

Wow. You obviously think Stendel should have been let off. Might happen at your work. BFC may think differently. Your defence of Stendel is admirable. But somewhat imo misplaced.

Those other events Hooky could they have been drink related issues??? do you think
that aside DS wasn't treated right....21 word statement still bugs me.....
Would welcome him back he has unfinished business with Barnsley in my eyes....would love to see what he's capable of achieving with the experience he was asking for...would love to see Dale Tonge Chris Stern and Dan the man reunited in the dug out once again that would be my choice

Tbh nothing quite adds up but as you say we don't know. Heard a lot of rumours none of which make sense pro or anti Stendel.

Absolutely no idea mate. Re other issues. Re the 21 word statement. It still bugs Every right thinking person. When I confronted Dane about the issue and said He/they should have talked to the media team. He admitted they'd got it wrong. I asked YTs media buddy. ( maybe even YT himself. I genuinely can't remember if he was there ) And he said they weren't consulted.
Anyone with half a brain would have known the impact it would have on the fans. I told Dane that.

There's been an undercurrent from some people to make him seem the villain and the owners the squeaky clean moral shining examples beyond reproach. Some even questioning if he had a drink problem to seemingly muddy his character a little more, which I think is bang out of order, even if he did.

Stendel was sacked on 8th October (2019). He was appointed Hearts Manager on 7th December (2019) and if I recall he was talking with Sunderland but walked away because of what was going on at Barnsley. Any such legalities could be considered as part of a severance. Giving BFC sacked him, he would be due a settlement unless he was sacked for gross misconduct and would be work for people again who accused him of that and took legal action for that?

Stendel asking for experience was part of every press conference, so could be seen and heard at first hand. Towards the end, his manner seemed more cowed and he steered clear of the experience questions posed repeatedly. We can only guess whether that was a personal choice or one that was requested from other quarters.

He was also reported to be gutted that was shared with several people who had met him and spent time with him. Again, that doesn't gel with the story put out that he was spoiling for a move and speaking behind everyones backs that led him to being removed for breaching contracts.

Anyway, we can only work off the information we all have access to and make our interpretations accordingly.

I think most of us can agree it was an unedifying moment, even moreso given the shocking statement that you touched on and I'd hope the club has learned and the next time they sack a coach, they do it with more class.

I would hope any future BFC manager get the same treatment. If I would have been the owner finding out I'm negotiating a new contract with my coach and at the same time he's negotiating with another club I would have sacked him on the spot.If Sir Bobby and Murray hadn't stepped in and reported him he would have continued his charade pitting club against club.
I've stated many times my love and admiration for what Stendel did for BFC but I was taught don't bite the hand that feeds you.
These are my own views and I still feel very strongly about this, others have different opinions and I respect that.
