    Well that’s what happens when you ask a player to come in having not played for a while. How often do we see Root turning out for Yorks and failing? Let’s hope Brook just plays his normal game and gets a quick hundred

    Absolutely barmy. Bring in two world class test performers with the bat and produce a pitch like this.

    Wouldn’t mind but it was baking yesterday and Wednesday so they could have sorted it just by mowing it short and leaving it open in the sun - nowhere near as good a forecast for the game in terms of sunshine and temperature either.
