    81-4, good from Matt Revis to get their NZ opener. Was getting a little worried as two of the wickets up to then were the night watchmen but we should be able to get into them now, fingers crossed.

    Very impressed with our new Sri Lankan batsman but a shame he didn’t score at least 50. Some really classy boundary shots, and Lyth seemed to thrive alongside him.

    Hill played brilliantly. With him, Lyth, Brook and Malan all getting scores this season we are I'm danger of being crippled when England play New Zealand.

    Down to 9 overs and looks like time will beat them. What on earth was Patterson thinking about yesterday building such a huge lead? Another hour at them before close would have been useful. Misjudged it I think

    to be fair, we played t20 mode last off batting yesterday, but think 400 with a few overs before tea was ample
    as it stands it wouldn't have been enough even with the extra 15 overs or so, northants haven't really struggled bar the quick 3 wickets this morning

    This is why hardly anybody goes to four day games. I’ve only been watching it on and off today and I hate the fact that teams can bore their way to a draw. Bad decision to bat so long yesterday, definitely

    Poor bowling and captaincy by Patterson. We should have declared sooner and he didn't get a wicket in the entire game. If you go on form he should drop himself for the next game if Fisher or Coad are back.

    We went after vanity runs yesterday instead of declaring with enough time to bowl them out. Poor captaincy imo there.
