    Ours went up on Friday, normally we put it up 2and weekend of December but it's been a rubbish year and it makes the house feel nice and cosy. Once the tree is up it means I'm allowed to buy rum. Nothing better than a warmer in front of the tv. We kept with tradition we watched Die Hard on Saturday night, and will watch Die Hard 2 next weekend before starting with the family films and the classic that is National Lampoons.

    Tbf, I've noticed this year many more households have put up decs early, probably down to it being a 5hit year and and they want to make the most of a bad situation, usually I would be like" get a grip" but this year should be a " yep, totally see where you're coming from"

    I despise Christmas but i'm all up for people doing anything whatsoever to enhance their lives at the minute. My youngest is telling us what he wants before bed on Christmas eve apparently.

    My youngest was exactly the same, bless her little cotton socks.

    Many a year, it was all we could do to coax something out of her a couple of weeks before Christmas to have any chance of getting her what she wanted lol :)

    It's quite funny now, but at the time it was quite stressful :D:D:D

    under normal circumstances I'd also probably think it was a bit odd. but this year, f.cuk it. it's been an absolute dog$hit year and if it gives people just a glint of escape and happiness, good. leave em up all next year n all if they want

    we did the same many many years ago for my Grandad, he had miners lung and would not have seen Christmas,. So we did an early Christmas for him.
