I didn't mean to sound abrupt . I understand your concern with the lack of proven central midfield players, but we've got what we've got, and I'm sure with 22 outfield players on the books we can cover most eventualities . You never know, we might not get an injury or suspension to Conor or Josh . It's all ifs and buts really .
Would have thought Watkins would be decent as cover if needs be, full of energy can win the ball and we have a few attacking options to cover him.
It's a valid point. But I wonder how many other championship clubs are in exact same boat. I doubt everybody's got 1 for 1 cover for every position - to some extent all teams will be at the mercy of the footballing Gods now more than ever. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
It's a strange position to leave yourself in, especially as we seem to have a surfeit of players who can play wide and up front.
They might be in talks with a few players that don't have clubs. Who knows? My guess would be Bree though.
In one of the friendlies yiadom played central midfield for a while I think. I think that options in central midfield if we need them are Scowen, hourihane, morsy, Bree, yiadom, Williams (when fit) plus I reckon white could do the job if needed or even Payne with a slight change in formation plus as big lol says we've probably got a few kids.
I just hope Hecky doesn't think he needs to change too much with the new signings, we've been fine so far, will be hard keeping 20 players who are all worthy starters happy.
Mom morsy unbelievable he was the worst player on the pitch, no legs no drive just didn't adapt to how we play and this affected the rest of the side. He must be dropped for Newcastle or they will get a bag full. Watkins and winnall were excellent and shouldn't have been taken off I!m sure yiadom could do job at left back and Bree back at right but with scowen out now it's got to be a change of system. How we missed Connor today because I'm sure with him we would have won. Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
That's the point isn't it. Morsy's got to play as Scowen will be suspended. Who knows if Hourihane will actually be fit either.
I would have said that Morsy did nothing all game but that would be unfair. I've just seen the highlights and his two through balls for our goals were exquisite. Maybe he did more that we didn't see but he's no Hourihane. I'd suggest that even with Conor in the side today we would have still lost. Parker WAY too clever for us, in the way he played AND the way he cheated the ref into giving Scowen a red card. The kind of thing that CH has been doing in fact
My point as well he today was for me was the main problem and that's why we need to change formation it's daft but if hourihane and scowen are out then go 541and use Watkins Kent hammil and a young midfielder bird lad who was on the bench maybe try Bree just in front of Roberts and MacDonald. I honestly don't know but I thought today our centre midfield was that bad today and wouldnt want it again on Tuesday Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
Did nothing apart from set up both goals! The game was won and lost out wide, we struggled to adapt our 442 to their 433. The formation gave Parker the room to play.
I watched him closely he didn't close anyone down, chase to get the ball back, they could walk straight passed him, to have been classed as Mom more is required than 2 through balls in 90 mins. I'm not slagging the team off. I enjoyed the first half and if we could have held out to half time 2-1up and their 3rd was a fluke goal for me, we would have come away with a point or 3. I just want us to be able to give Newcastle game and not ruin the teams confidence by getting a hiding when I saw today our biggest weakness. Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
