that's defence. I'm talking about attack. this is a thread about the absence of a striker. do you think we were effective going forward?

Not at all I think both are as good as we are going to get at this level but will be interesting to see how long the boo boys hold off before we hear 1 goal in 10 games. Get him dropped.

Still think we would suit a switch to 3-5-2

Morris and Woodrow up top, closer together than the front 3 system offers. Defo more suited to Woodrows game and Morris wins a lot of balls played up to him. Could work well.

5 in the middle helps stop teams pass through us as well.

I agree though not sure we have 5 midfielders worth picking. We desperately need to strengthen that area in January.

Morris looked lost tonight without Cauley, just like Cauley looked lost when Morris was out. They play better when in the same team.

Hopefully we see Cauley soon and he can recover quickly from his bout of covid sorry knee injury.

Maybe but people who watch see what happens on the pitch how many chances did we create for him tonight? 0. The frustration with woodrow went further than the lack of goals for many. But its a **** time to be a striker for us as we create nothing we actually created more under schopp.

But in the interests of fairness the only metric we can use is goals from ‘open play’. So we have to judge Carlton in that light done we?

But in all seriousness I agree. Terrible time to play upfront for us. Zero service. Zero quality from set pieces. Zero pace on the break. Zero quickness of thought.

Ah but if were only using open play goal cauley has scored 1 goal in every 990 minutes this season.
Seriously though january cant cone quick enough some creativity the signings last window were awful benson looks like he should still be at grimsby, iseka moments of good but mostly meh and oulare with the fitness of a darts player.

Domt think it would have made a diffrence myself if your midfields so gash and you dont create chances cauley would have struggled. That said he cant have been any worse than iseka.

Pardon my ignorance but why was Cauley not playing yesterday? Not even on the bench so my first thought is injury (not heard about any injuries) or COVID....

Cauley Woodrow. The best forward at the club.

At least darts players cover the distance from the oche to the board and back a few times.
