To be fair I've probably watched far too many American crime programmes.

Might I suggest reading Camus' The Outsider if you see the justice system as this black and white.

If someone raped my daughter id want him dead. If someone accused my son of rape and got him convicted but later admitted they'd made it up, I'd want answers and a punishment but wouldn't want her dead. That's my view

If my squirrel raped another squirrel I would fully expect to get drummed out of the Tufty Club.

As for the OP do you hate women so much that you would punish them in a different way to anyone else committing perjury? There are alreDy laws in place to cover perjury why target a new law specifically at women. What happens to a man that falsely accuses someone of rape immediate cessation of chocolate rations?

If they prove that she deliberately made it up then of course she should be punished. It shouldn't be designed to run the lives of innocent people though so your comment about her family were well off the mark. And I'm not talking about the chef Evans girl either as she didn't completely make it up but yes if is is deliberately and maliciously made up then of course they should be punished

Completely disagree that the victims job has anything to do with it though. Making up a rape allegation against a cleaner is as harmful to that cleaner as it is to prince William if you pretend he dragged you into his limo.

Same goes for men. All people who want to ruin a life based on a lie deserve to have the appropriate punishment

    Why specifically say women?

Why invent a new crime when there are already crimes on the statute book?

Wouldn't happen so it's an unanswerable question. Hypothetically I would see why the girls parents would want him dead, as for me I wouldn't give a rats what happened to him as he wouldn't be my son anymore.

If there's proof it's false then I'd have no issue with that person been prosecuted, not sure about 4 years.

If it's proven it was a lie. E.g. She's on record admitting it was made up or something like that then I'd have no problem with that person been prosecuted, not too sure about 4 years though
