    Oddly enough, I got home today and had a letter from a Parking company trying to ‘fine’ me for parking at a restaurant and I hadn’t registered. The usual £100 pay quick it’s £60 etc tactics.
    I contacted the restaurant and they have just emailed me to confirm I had indeed registered and have instructed the parking company to look into and to cancel.

    Not saying that’s what happened with you but these outfits are known for trying it on in the hope of some people paying it quick.

    That's right - I was trying to buy Premium Bonds on line - got so far and then things crashed. Finally got to a human by asking to speak to a human three or four times.
    (Problem was the password I had by chance selected had '££' in it and Premium Bonds don't accept the '£' symbol.)
