DS is an open admirer of a certain Mr Marquis and maybe he is more privy to the ongoings and treatment of KM than a lot of us are aware off. Secondly What's his hair style got to do with it? Each to their own... No doubt some on here like it.. Fashion to the individual taste = style with attitude pmsl
This with knobs on ,......( small caucasian ones obvs so as not to perpetuate any outdated stereotypes....)
SIGNING STRIKERS LJ says we either need to make a big signing or a brave decision, like promoting ayoungster. We won't sign a player if it is the wrong thing for the football club. We have four or five options for that area. It is also important not to block the pathway for the youngsters and kill their minutes. If we do not make a big signing then the young boys Semenyo and Jannah, who have done extremely well, have to step up. "We genuinely believe in these boys." (observation - Matty Taylor's name was not mentioned once amidst all the talk of strikers - are his days numbered?) OTHER SIGNINGS The club is very active at the moment trying to sign more players. We have to find better players than what we have got, which is expensive, and such players have options to go to other clubs. "We have to seduce them to sign for us with the football that we play." WHY DID WE NOT SCORE MORE GOALS LAST SEASON. We made the chances, but didn't convert enough of them. We also need to sign players who can assist others, not just score. WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO TO GET INTO THE TOP 6?. Players have to show better tactical awareness. They must solve their own problems during a match, and the likes of Brownhill must step up and score more. Players have to find a way to win. Nicolas Eliason is also ready for a big season. We have a lot of players coming into their prime, physically tactically, technically, but most importantly mentally. There is a high expectation on us, coming from ourselves, and from outside. A summary of LJs interview from Bristol.board. Cant find Kieffers name mentioned anywhere.
If this were the case then we mustn't forget that Lee Johnson knows the mentality of the board at BFC and will advise his board to play us like a fiddle until we accept the lowest fee we could ever wish for. £3m for us is a vast sum compared with what other clubs will accept for their players. If Stendel wants Marquis then that's fine by me but I'd be interested what Donny's valuation of him would be.
Can't see any mention of their fans talking about him...... https://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/forum/31-football-chat/ Sell our key target man so close to the season starting, with no obvious replacement and for three million when he's a couple of years left on his contract and more questions will be asked of the board.
If the club replace Moore with Marquis, and that is the conclusion of our transfer business this season, they have so drastically underestimated the Championship that it borders on incompetence.
Is it not the same thinking as when he was with us, buy cheap and sell for profit? It's well known in football circles that Barnsley have lived for years using this model, started by Mr Cryne and continued ever since. The new owners bought into this plan.
I don’t see how Marquis fits Stendels way of playing any better then Moore does either. Plus he’s older then Moore
I think the philosophy is the same (because it's profitable) but we have a bit more resolve now due to better contract lengths. So, no it's not the same thinking, it's better.
All this thread from a rumour where KM has not even been mentioned. Sure the CEO said nobody else was leaving so see it very very very very and even very unlikely that 3m for top scorer with 2.5 yrs on contract would be not laughed at.
He signed a 3 and a half year deal in January 2018. He now has just under 2 years left on his contract.
We'll see. But 8 months less time on a contract is going to result in a lesser fee. We've seen enough from sales of Bradshaw, Potts, and Pinnock in particular that we still have a penchant for inadequate fee levels.
