Northern Monk and a couple of other breweries have also had problems https://northernmonk.com/news/listening-learning/
You're right, I have misinterpreted your point. I read that your stress levels were being amplified by your employer rather than by external forces.
No no no. The stress is coming from having to speak to customers, media, trade bodies, friends, associates, work contacts about all this and explain it isn't the BrewDog that I work for. Especially when those conversations come with the threat of a cancelled partnership, a removed listing, etc.
Well all you can do is reiterate to them that this is not your experience of the company. You can't control what they think, you can only pass on your views and hope it alters their perception. Let the MD get stressed about it, no need for you to.
At least Brewdog seem to have learned lessons from their heavy handed dealings with Lone Wolf craft bar in Birmingham ( now The Wolf) Magic Rock in Huddersfield on the other hand after selling out to Kirin have been labelled mass murderers because Kirin have interests in Myanmar https://www.magicrockbrewing.com/blog/magic-rock-brewing-statement/?age-verified=56946268be
would you really have to deal with that in a bar? In sales? I would imagine most flack would be through social media platforms.
100%. We've had two customers today back out of listing agreements. Thankfully the majority of our customers are just checking everyone is ok, but I've just got off a call where the first five minutes was me clarifying our owners statement and explaining that all I can do is reassure them of my time at BrewDog.
I’m sure it will get sorted out. Seems a decent company this still relatively young and making mistakes but in general trying to do the right thing. There’s little you can do about individual people other than remove them if it’s proven their behaviour isn’t acceptable. It shouldn’t taint the brand.
I'm not trying to trip you up at all, far from it. You have described these people as disgruntled ex-employees and been quite critical of them, I just wondered how you came to voice that opinion when you also say you don't actually know them and have never worked with them. It didn't seem logical. That's why I asked the question, not for any attempt to trip you or have a go in any way.
Our owner was just live on Jeremy Vine. Most of the upset and distress is levelled at him to be fair but he's been on BBC Scotland doing a live video interview last night and Radio 2 today, so there's no hiding and lots of denials about some of the claims in the open letter but not the overall sentiments. Just a direct apology to those who were let down by us.
I didn't actually say I didn't know them did I? Just that I didn't work with them at BrewDog and that was mainly to display that we're going back years and not talking necessarily about today. And you only have to read the open letter from Wednesday night to know they're disgruntled ex-employees. That's obvious and clear. Not sure I've been that critical though.
Imagine if those in charge of protecting the country did something like that.......yep we can just imagine cos it'll never happen.
