It was tongue in cheek. I thought Bree looked steady against us, last season. Looks to have filled out and got some much needed strength. If somebody had said to me, on the day he left for Aston Villa, that in three and a half years he’ll be signing permanently for Luton, I’d have thought they were mad. No doubt the money he’s earned at Villa will be levels above what he could’ve received with us, but what if he’d stayed and had two/three season as our first choice right-back. Surely he would’ve developed more.
Jones plays a diamond with no wingers so the full backs are arguably the 2 most important positions for them. One of the reasons they won League One was having Stacey and Justin at full backs.
Fair enough if I am wrong about the Justin fee exceeding the Stones one. I stand by what I said, though. We get our pants pulled down. When Justin wins Premier League titles and plays in the World Cup semi-final, maybe Luton fans can complain they too got ripped off. As it is, Justin is a reserve right-back for a club whose second half of the season would have seen them in the bottom six. So even if the fees are comparable, the achievements of the players are not. At Justin's age, Stones was taking Ci'eh's blood money. I accept that Barnsley did well to get a decent sell-on fee but as a general point, we don't get enough when we sell our players.
I'd guess he'll be getting a pay off from Villa to help lower his wages at Luton, probably why the fee is fairly high
On the flip side u less he's improved significantly he's the only defender I've seen for Barnsley who can't defend at all. Excellent going forwards but I reckon I could get past him and that's without even being allowed in the stadium
Could be mistaken but I think during his time in the youth teams he actually played in central midfield

Will be amazed if they even get the £8-10 m they are reported to be looking for. Nowt if he chooses not to sign a new contract and leave at the end of this coming season) Wouldn’t re-sign. I believe both goalies we have now are both better all round goalkeepers. But only us . ?
