No, they'll get that for the administration, but further (possibly worse) punishment for failing to fulfil their fixtures. That's viewed far more seriously than any financial shenanigans.
I hope one day all the **** that has been going on in the club behind closed doors is made public. I've been kept abreast of the situation from someone on the inside and, while obviously I can't break the trust of the person who has told me the goings on(by going into details), I can honestly say I've never heard anything as bad in football before, which saying what the likes of Blackpool and Pompy have been through, is really saying something. Liquidation is the best thing for a club as toxic as that. Let the fans form a phoenix club(like Wimbledon) and give them pride in their club back...
These are the wheelie bins of basket cases. No doubt a transfer embargo will follow as part of their punishment. If they still exist over the summer expect them to be doing player trials on Garstang playing fields.
Guaranteed that punishments will be handed out after season starts, that way they will have had time to recruit.
They've got nothing to recruit with, not a pot to **** in. Phil Parkinson and his coaching team will be handing in their 2 week notice before long
Interesting comments CD. I often wondered what my reaction might be, by knowing about something that I considered at best ill advised and at worst downright illegal. I worked for three Local Authorities when I lived in Doncaster, re- Doncaster Borough Council, Thorne Rural District Council and from 1974, the newly created Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council. Whilst I was at the latter, I saw and heard things, that really disturbed me. As a Senior Officer, I came into contact with Elected representatives and it was some of their activities, that caused me my greatest concerns. So when the "Donnygate" scandal broke in the late 90's, I have to admit, that I was far from surprised. The Police set up a telephone hotline to allow people to phone in and inform them of anything of concern that employees and/or members of the public might have witnessed. The whole process was carried out with guaranteed anonymity so as to encourage people to phone in. Had that not been the case, the Police would never of secured the evidence to secure numerous prosecutions which in some cases, led to custodial sentences. The fallout from the scandal ,was that the Labour Group in Doncaster quite rightly suffered and a number of those who had transgressed were also kicked out of the Labour Party. Personally, regarding Bolton Wanderers, if no one is prepared to report any concerns that they may have, there is little or no chance of those responsible for the Clubs demise to be ever brought to book and it will be doubtful whether the Club can move forward. I agree with your recommendation, that if the Club is toxic, the best solution, would be to liquidate it , in the hope you could somehow establish a new Club in the town at some point in the future. I bet the "Lion of Lisbon", the late great Nat Lofthouse is turning in his grave. !!
For £500 a game + add-ons, I'll play for them. Ok, I'm 48, overweight, was never particularly fast, would have to skip training for my proper job and would probably struggle to do anything constructive for the team, but money talks
They will either go into Admin or be liquidated All that happened today was the winding up petition was delayed to give Bolton 2 weeks to appoint an administrator - I doubt they will be able to do that again so either they will be in Admin in under 2 weeks or will be wound up https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/spo...ven-breathing-space-to-appoint-administrator/ I quite like the comment at the end of the article that Liquidated clubs face expulsion from the league - really thats a shock In other news liquidated shops no longer buy and sell goods
Yes I know, it was more to do with everyone completely jumping the gun. Not aimed at the OP, by the way, more Sky Sports etc going to press stating that BWFC had entered administration despite the case having yet been heard. The adjournment was inevitable once the court heard that the trust presented the note of intention. Interesting/disgusting that Ken Anderson wasn’t present and instead published his chairman’s notes giving off the impression that he was saving the club by putting them into administration which he hasn’t done, nor does he intend to. Shocking in truth.
Wouldn't be surprised to see bury also start on minus 12 next season In league one, similar to Bolton lived beyond their means just not to Boltons scale.
