tbf I think much of the sentiment was less 'they need to sell to x' and more 'these people are wrecking the club, they need to go'. there were plenty of people urging caution around potential sale. much of the concern around the 'Conway out' campaign was based on that caution. for me we have a very good compromise from where we were. we've not lurched into the unknown with a new buyer, but the operational control has been taken from those who were wrecking the Club.

I was on a night out once in Sheffield from work. When he was Palace chairman him and some of the backroom staff walked in Lloyds next to city hall. I knew it was him straight away, and when they’d been to bar I went and said hello. He was great. Right banter flying about Palace and Barnsley, and he went to bar and bought me and my three mates from work a beer each. Had about half an hour or so chatting with him, seemed a bit of a lad but at the same time one of the lads. They were playing Sheff Utd next day.
