Congrats on the grandad status... I'm sure that must have given you a lift too. As for the football last season... I enjoyed it in the main, though I was generally unlucky with the games I was able to attend and only saw 2 wins all season (Luton home and Gills away). And seeing as we seemed to have a bit of a hoodoo when it came to midweek games, I don't think I saw us win on ifollow either. But the general intensity and attack focus was hugely refreshing and it was nice to see us bring some pride back to the club. The football was a huge step up from Morais and Heckingbottom and we've unearthed an absolute gem in Stendel. I can't speak high enough of the guy. Coming to a country where you cant speak their language, leaving your family behind, losing your first team coach, taking a team that was inept and tanked just months before and of course the incident v Fleetwood... just an outstanding job, all with a smile on his face and kicking every ball. Just love the guy. Player wise... i've found it hard to connect with the players like I have before. I don't know if its because of the faster rotation of players in and out of the door, or just modern football... I don't know. Even Davies. He played 200 games, but I don't think of him as I do of Baker, Watson, Muller... even Butler. This season is going to be a big challenge. Some players should have unfinished business to prove they are better than the last time they adorned the Championship. And I think we're going to have to be more savvy and more ruthless. I'm not sure we'll often generate 20 chances in a game, but I firmly believe Stendel knows what he is doing more than any other manager I've seen at Oakwell, the great DW included. Looking forward to the new season and in effect, the start of the Lee/Conway dynasty and what it truly holds.
