This professor is CMO of the Rutherford cancer group PLC.
Perhaps they are down on profits as a consequence of the coronavirus?

    How would you know?

I’m not imagining it’s not the case btw. But as I sit in my house 7 days a week, following the guidelines, I haven’t got a clue what everyone else is doing. I skype friends family and colleagues, but this could seriously be the greatest April fools gag ever, with everyone else going about their lives but telling me to stay home.

Can find many comments from people who have treatments delayed. Listened to one gentleman on the radio last night.
It may well be necessary, but these are people who are have just as much right to live as anyone who contracts Covid19.

Maybe they are, would that not mean less people are getting treated? Private or otherwise.

And there we have it. After years of running down the NHS, treating staff like crap leading to them leaving in droves, scrapping bursaries causing less people to train and Brexit making people feel the need to leave/not come in the first place we have a huge staffing problem anyway. Nightingale was a PR exercise, people saw hospitals being quickly built in China and were impressed and called for it here so the Government built one to much fanfare whilst knowing they couldn’t possibly staff it. They’re extremely lucky it isn’t full otherwise they’d be really shown up. The only reason we aren’t seen to be over run is because almost all non essential treatments have stopped.
