It wasn't a direct comparison. Wimbledon were very erm...'different' in many other ways! I was just trying to think of a side that was so committed 1 through 11, so well organised and played in a way that made it so difficult for the opposition, regardless of their actual form. Maybe there's better examples though!
Look again mate. By match, I meant 2 matched teams. Cancelling each other out. We had the edge 2nd half. When I say ‘match’ it means competitive teams. Not a great ‘game’..
I think that's an accurate comparison. we win ugly. this group have someone who gives the impression that he's a very strong and direct leader and his team reflect those characteristics. can't remember him as a player but imagine he was a no no nonsense win at all costs hard tackling midfielder. The man is working wonders in a way that others haven't been able to. As you say....thru hard graft and coherent team work. Amazing. COYR!
Well you learn something every day. A football match is not the same as a football game. Who'd have thought it?
Present day is from 1st January 1950. Nuclear testing means objects after then become adversely affected when using Carbon 14 dating methods. I would suggest 'recently' refers to to anything immediately prior to that date, archaeologically speaking.
I just love the way that Valerien isn’t afraid to change things and grind out results. After the joint worst start to a season for 100 years, it’s just brilliant man management and game management to get us into this position by the end of February. Even our corners have improved!
Right you are mate - thank you for that. However we seem to have to compare Millwall today, against each team we've played since 1950 in order to get to the nub of this particular footballing gist. So....... I promise never to use the word "recently" ever again, and hope that others use it with appropriate caution henceforth.
Said himself that he was too young to cope in the Prem. If we get promoted this experience will be invaluable.
As soon as I saw the Millwall set-up it was obvious that they had set up 3-4-3 to match us in the three areas of the pitch and, by starting Wallace, Bennett and Williams up front, they were obvious going to try to get the quick counter with the ball over the top for speed against our back three. They must have seen Armstrong's goal against us for Blackburn. Well, it worked for their equaliser, but it may have been an astute move by VI to bring on Sibbick for Sollbauer at half time in order to give the back three a better counter against pacy, quick breaks. No criticism of Sollbauer, but Sibbick probably does have the better pacy against that threat. Good win against another side who, like Stoke, can be very hard to break down.
10 a surprise you should be careful not to miss. https://www.birdspot.co.uk/culture/one-for-sorrow-magpie-nursery-rhyme
Oh dear. This guy not happy is an understatement...... A few snippets.... "Team selection. Is he having a foooking laugh. We're playing a team that's slow at the back (we're not that slow, even when Sibbick is on the bench). So why doesn't he play Bradshaw (cos he's slow and only effective in the box)." "Don't know how Barnsley are 1 point off the playoffs" Because we've got 20 odd players and coaching staff working together as a TEAM. "Don't know how Romeo get's a start" Because he was your best player "Maybe I'm seeing it wrong...." Correct 100% "We're not good enough...." again correct
