Weird game as I thought we played well without actually troubling their keeper properly.

We always have to concede now. It’s a new rule.

Glad to be in the next round.

Hope everyone has come through injury free too. Going to be a hard game on Saturday.

Given our normal abject showing in this stage of the cup when we change our team this was still light years ahead of what we’ve seen before. Some great youngsters, they’re going to be up and down but we’ve got a chance with some of these to build a good team. Usually we come away from these games saying none of them deserve a start, can’t say that tonight, a few knocking on the door.

Thought our pens were decent tbf Kelly hit the bar.. a mention for Farrell who had the kahunas to take one..
And Murf made up for the boo-boo.. Early League cup games are always strange so not going to slate anyone..

Just glad we don’t have to endure extra time. Some good performances tonight and despite not finishing it off in normal time there was a lot to take encouragement from tonight

Really liked the look of Kelly. Cleary was great apart from the end product. Ogbeta, Bland, Russell all good. Just feels like midfielders all over the pitch.

Can’t be too grumpy with that though.

I think more of the same... Decent going forward, suspect at the back.. so plenty of 4-3s some for and some against.

Cleary set both goals up, in defence of his end product.

Thought Cleary’s end product was excellent. Put Russell’s on a plate with a great cross, and should have had two more if DKD had his shooting boots on, then another assist for our second - Quality showing and easily MOTM

DKD and OG tied for leading scorer, at the moment.

Looks like I may be able to sneak another home game in when I'm over. :)

Kelly stood out the first half.

At one point in the 2nd half I thought I'd missed a sub. He disappeared. Up until the last 10 minutes.

But then again, 5 pints might be the cause of that and running to bog etc

    Cleary my MOM

I'm another one in the Cleary for MOTM camp, albeit mainly on his first half performance. The option to shoot on target would be a good string to have to his bow, but for me he can keep putting those crosses in and we need to have someone getting on the end of them and putting them away. That's not his primary role.

1 shot on target all game, with all the opportunities we made, is not encouraging.

Such a ‘Groundhog Day’ fixture this innit? I never expect anything from this round, so was pleasantly surprised with some aspects of our game - not shocked by others.

Given that the next rounds a local Derby, I’m
Just happy to be through, and have three straight wins.

Roll on Saturday and the serious stuff.

Some encouraging signs going forward tonight but Jesus….we can’t defend. Need a centre half ASAP.
    Plus a centre forward.

A lot of very good performances tonight but I thought Bland was outstanding, he makes everything look simple.

By end product i meant his own personal finishing. Thought his shooting in decent positions was poor on occasions. He made a big contribution though probably MOM.
