On a tangent, agree with you on watching Extinction.

I read a book a few years ago relating to habitat loss, climate change and the effects of humans. It was thoroughly depressing, not just the issues faced by us and the lack of urgency to deal with it, but that as populations and consumerism booms, what will it take for us to do something to try and protect and increase nature and environment rather than anything that improves convenience and make money at any cost.

I'm as guilty as anyone, even though I try and do my bit here and there. But very sad that in my lifetime, the climate could be so much more volatile, species lost forever and even water and food shortages. Frightening.

It didn't say full PPE. It just said wearing PPE. You have to ask the question, why on earth is there an option to turn it off?

I'd much rather a large scale effort to educate the public how much 2 metres actually is, how to wear a face mask properly and processes that force people to wash their hands properly. Was chatting with a client on Tuesday who said they'd been away for a week (in the UK) and the number of social distancing breaches and instances of people not washing hands in toilets was more common than the positive instances of following guidance.

    Very worrying, but not surprising.

Well according to NHSX they use the same tech so the England/Wales one should work.

Already downloaded. There are places I visit where it has to be used so not much choice.

I’d rather use this than have people writing fake ‘funny’ names and numbers on test and trace sheets in pubs, bars, and restaurants - I’ve seen plenty!

I'm 50, not great with tech stuff. Downloaded it, used it when out, no problem I think we should just use it because it makes sense to and we should all try.

If the data is stored on your phone, how much will there be? I already have memory issues on mine and have to remove apps just to update another app cos there is never enough memory.

App requires IOS 13.5 or Android 6.

My partner Anne's iphone 6 is IOS 12 and my Samsung is Android 5 so we're spared having to think about the pros and cons... I'm guessing that this disqualifies 50% or more of the population so the whole exercise is a complete waste of time.

Agree. It's as if we have no cares at all (collectively) about the world our children and grandchildren will inherit. Live now, let someone else pay later.

So a quick search says its purely relying on people voluntarily isolating?
Also saw that even if the recipient has no symptoms or a subsequent negative test result, they must stay at home for the duration. So what exactly is the point of getting the test?

Just downloaded it. Wasn’t going to but Nuffield have made it preferred for their gyms so just easier to do it rather than going through the process of registering contact tracing with them.

I've had the Australian version of the app for months without any apparent problems. Of course it might work differently to the UK one.

It actually says that or neighbouring an area with restrictions. I assume S75 borders kirklees towards Clayton West.
