Can I crack up my freedom moped and nip round to yours to share in your commendable efforts to push back the boundaries of the human mind
No need to travel anywhere at the moment , me old mucker. Not while Jay's expanding the boundaries on another thread. However, even though"Darfield138" doesn't sound too likely to turn up trumps, if you're a gorgeous girl under 45 (50 at a push) then rev it up and slam the pedal down, mushrooms in hand. I shall create a diversion with the wife (not too difficult unless "I'm a Celebrity " has finished.)
My conscience means I shall maintain a lifetime trait of disappointing people and concede that my name indeed conceals a middle-aged man. If, however, you wish to celebrate the Beatles and Back in the Ussr, as belatedly reclaimed by the eponymous country of its title, I will assume you can appreciate a blonde lady in a tight pencil skirt and hope this cheers your night:
And by the way, it appears they have no equivalent word for "the".......a bit like us folk from tarn then.
A Day In The Life is my immediate pick, and my favourite Beatles song, but I'd recommend anyone who visits Vegas to go see Love at The Mirage. A Cirque du Soleil show set to Beatles music. There's one act in particular within it using Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds which lifts the song up to another level.
Totally new discussion after a good call by Stephen. The cover by Souxsie is better than the original. Flying Lizards anybody??
Fly off to your own cover version thread on your fookin freedom moped. If it can take off. This thread is for purists.
The End. Only discovered it in lockdown when I saw Rick Beato recreating it. We only had the Beatles red album as a kid and my mate had the blue album. The Beatles Rick Beato version
If you're talking covers (sorry purists) then She & Him's version of 'Should Have Known Better' is a belter. Unfortunately, I can't find a video of Zooey Deschanel singing so it's audio only.
