It may be that he is thinking in terms of the impact on his club. Take the four youngsters who went off to Denmark, back in the day we may have simply released them, and in turn Accrington might have signed one and turned a profit.

Back in the day they might be enrolling on bricklaying courses or signing on. It's better for the players too. They're getting another shot.

If Accrington were showing any interest in them then I think that's where they'd be playing their football this year.

He's referring to this sort of thing being ignored by the majority if the team is winning matches.

No professional football club is solely community based, football people agents etc make sure of that even FA, EFL are hypocritical in their stance .
When a football club goes bust who are the people most looked after ?
The community ? Not likely they are the last to get their investment . The PFA have forced them to look after the players but others are not so well represented .
The big clubs invest in their infrastructure because they make them pay whereas the smaller clubs aren’t as profitable and very often investment in this area Leaves them struggling.

Take away tv revenue and wealthy owners and show me a football club that is run fairly and by the book and making annual profits.

Like all the premier clubs hoovering up anyone that moves. Then charging God knows what in loan fees.

It's just another income stream. And then sell/release.

We're probably doing it on a smaller scale.

    And why not
