I heard, brushed over by many though. They'll cover the deficit if we go down and those long term contracts wont have much bearing if it doesnt work out. Interesting to see what's going to happen over the next 12 months.
Has Barnsley got the most negative down trodden spiteful supporters in the football league!?!?! Or is it just those that post on the BBS ? What the hell is happening here??? We have new owners that have brought in a shed load of players and are willing to bring more in - and the vast majority on the BBS are just giving them grief. It just does NOT make any sense to me whatsoever. Can’t others see that we are at the start of a long journey here? Is the short term concern about relegation clouding everything what people are seeing??? Listen to what is being said - relegation to the owners will be disappointing - but it is NOT a catastrophe!!!
You slated the owners on here from day one - you made a thread in November with a load of mistakes they've made. Now you've done a complete 180 just because you've realised that's the general feeling - such is your addiction for attention and wanting to be different. Now go and glorify drink driving somewhere else.
False accusations. Re-post what I’ve written in the past about the owners and anything else you want to try and dig up. On a more positive note for you. I’m glad to hear you are hanging onto everything I post. But when you do - you need to be clear in what I’ve ACTUALLY written - and NOT what you think I’ve written.
Yes I am doing. IMO these are the most exciting times for the club in more than 15 to 20 years. As I’ve said before - no matter what success we had with Patrick we knew (or some of us did) that it would be followed by a fall because he just didn’t have the money to sustain it. Give these owners time.
Well.....I'll probably get pilloried but I thought that was a refreshing interview. In the main a set of good questions and honest answers. Naively, I thought that those 25 minutes might have changed the view of the extreme cynics on here but apparently not. Tis what it is..... .....and I will be renewing next season.
Can I just say. The BBS was formed so supporters could air their views. It’s GOOD to argue and debate issues. Im hopeful that after recent spats that Admin is going to clamp down now on personal abuse. Personal abuse on here is wrong and should not be tolerated. If you see it - REPORT IT.
Too much I'd rather do on a Saturday afternoon. I'll attend occasional match next season regardless of the division.
This is just the normal football supporter stuff. Unless the team is at the top of the league. Any team in danger of relegation has a large number of "supporters" posting criticism of owners, coaches, management whatever.....Do you think Middlesbrough fans are happy? Or Sunderland? Hull City certainly aren't. We had a reluctant owner, who was ill, but who used a lot of his own money to keep the club solvent after we had been in administration. He managed to sell it on to a group of investors whose primary concern must be a financially stable business model - to ensure the long term existence of the club. This must be aimed at achieving as high a League Position as we can with limited financial resources. As it is, we have to develop and sell players to be able to survive - that's the bottom line. Ticket sales are nowhere near sufficient to ensure survival. So it's a balancing act of keeping supporters onside - fan engagement - and providing a team that provides entertainment and pushes for success. But when we do sell a player (and sometimes that is not the club's decision, but the player's) there are howls. Not all the players we sign will turn out good - stuff happens, things go bad - whatever. All the people coming on here saying they wont' renew their season ticket. If they are not interested why do they post? `Go and do something else on Saturday afternoons, I am really not interested.
i agree with most of your post - but not the section highlighted above. I honestly CAN NOT see anyone buying an English Football League club that wants to make money. Patrick used to say - if you want to lose money then buy a football club. I think the owners have bought an English club because they want to be part of the English League. It’s an interest to them. They are football fans that want to be part of English Football. In saying that - they will not want to lose a lot of money. But they will know that the club will need a few million injection every season to keep it going. And if you listen to what Dane says this is what he is indicating. And he also said - if a player wants to leave (eg Davies, Pinnock, Lindsay) then they can’t stop them. But also if an offer comes in for a player that they can’t turn down so that money can therefore be ploughed back into the team then they will sell that player. This position is totally different from HAVING to sell players to keep afloat.
