For me we should always where possible wear red shirts, white shorts and red and white hooped socks. If there’s a clash with the home team wearing white then we go to red shirt, black shorts and black socks but never red shorts - it just looks wrong. Then failing that we wear the away kit which should be some combination of green, white, black and/or red. No blue, pink, yellow, orange, grey or purple - those colours would be fine for the keeper kits though.
Both the last two seasons I've made the point that I'm not that fussed over the colour of the shorts. Bigger, more successful clubs and/or clubs with longer tradition than us have had the occasional season with a change of short colour. And I stand by it. However. I want white shorts back next season. I don't see a need for a third season of red shorts. The rationale that this was linked to the ladies' team or the laundry side of things appears to have been debunked so there's no reason for this to become anything other than a temporary change and we revert to the norm. Ideally, I'd like a fairly plain, traditional red shirt with a small amount of white detailing/trim. White shorts, maybe with some red detail/trim. And red and white hooped socks. A white away shirt with black trim, essentially the same design as the home shirt. Black shorts with white trim. Socks that are black or white. Something like that and I'll probably buy one for the first time in years.
