So, ignoring the snidey jibes about people who hold different views to you over the right course of action being either right wing or conspiracy theorists, the converse of what you’re saying is also true, isn’t it, that’s impossible to dispel your assertion that the lockdown saved thousands of lives; the main evidence people appear to point to for this is the wild forecasts of Neil Ferguson, a man proved wrong time and again over pretty much every major health crisis of the last 10 years. Just to be clear - I’m not seeking to downplay the severity of the breakout or that it’s tragic the number of lives lost - I just feel like from the outset we’ve got this wrong in imposing draconian measures on the general population and yet at the same time not targeting the most vulnerable with any sort of additional protection. That’s some balance: For those who haven’t read it, or haven’t the time... the conclusion is that we don’t know and won’t know for a long time. And maybe there’ll never be enough data to prove or disprove anything because there are variables that make direct comparison impossible. If you were hoping it was saying we’d got it wrong or the Swedes have got it right, you picked the wrong article.
No, I was hoping to give some balance, so I posted a balanced article. I was hoping the words ‘for some balance’ would help clarify that.
