But I thought Barnsley would win at QPR the bookies didn’t .
The bookies win by edging their bets not predictions .

They set a "book" to kick off with.

They don't start with e.g. will Liverpool beat Norwich - let's see what happens there.

Just using your example on individual the bookies aren’t cleverer than the average punter as no one knows any definites but they win on mass bets rather than individual cleverness , in a 26 horse race the punter usually only has one horse whereas the boookie has 25 . that’s where they win not the actual outcome of individual bets .
If the bookies had one horse in the race and won every time then he’d be cleverer than the punter but to have 25 of the 26 then that’s not cleverer that’s edging your bets or summat I’m pissed . I know what I mean anyway .

I admire your optimism, I really do but I could feel every ounce of my optimism drain out of me this afternoon.

I'm sure a win at Luton will restore some but right now I feel completely flat.

Just hope we can somehow take it to the last game against Brentford still in with a shout of staying up .

The thing in our favour with remaking fixtures is they all need to get points as it stands meaning t
Bookies are successful by offsetting anything with other bookies that generates large amounts of money. That way they might make small profits(Or even small loss) on the one that wins but clean up on all others that don’t.
Got a friend whose family owned a bookies for best part of 30 years, went bust overnight in the 80’s cos they never covered a large accumulator.

Tbh I'd accepted relegation before lockdown ( the draw against Wednesday really needed to be a win and losing to a poor Birmingham side) in February. We hit the ground running and as I've said before our lads did great in the keeping fit stakes during lockdown . I cant help but feel that others are catching up now and maybe are mentally stronger and more experienced. Hope I'm wrong .

Doesn’t make sense at all, It’s obvious why bookies win, I still maintain that result was not on the cards today. Oh and I’m better employed Monday to Friday at work.
