Josh Benson was most definitely not on 14k per week I don't know where that figure has come from, he was on just over 5k, I mean what's 1.5m difference for a bit of exaggeration.
I was talking to a lad at the weekend who does radio commentary for Hudds' games, he told me that Dion Charles had ONE shot on target for Huddersfield following his move last season!
Our annual wages in the last published accounts are £11.3 million. If our top earners, those with contracts signed in the Championship, are only on 5k per week (£250,000 per year) then I'm struggling to spend the full £11 million. 20 players on 5K per week only takes us to £5 million. Which leaves another 6 million to play with or to put it another way, 120 staff all on a grand a week. https://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/bfc-accounts-have-landed.336506/
Yeah that's fair. Charles still started 14 and 4 off bench though. With 2 goals to show for it. Looks like Taylor got 8 starts, 7 off bench. With 2 goals also. I don't think they are bad players like, I just don't think it's guaranteed goals with them two.
Taylor scored 10 in 19 games for Lincoln in the first part of last season on loan and Charles hit better than 1 in 3 at Bolton in 122 games, they'll both hit double figures if fit, add Alfie May into the equation and I think you are looking at top 2.
I've absolutely no idea of some of the other players salaries but I can assure you through someone close to Josh Benson he was not on 14k per week
Fair enough. I have no idea of anyone's wage, I was just looking at the maths of it. Benson was often reported to be one of the high earners, but that doesn't mean he was.
I heard he was on about 8k, Herbie wanted to be on par but they wouldnt give him it so he went to Hudds
Think it was season before when he did well with Lincoln. Actually got a few games at Luton first half of last season. I think he could be a good player. Don't rate Charles that much. May will get them goals yeah.
