Not only that, boxing would just go underground. Unlicensed fights, no doctors, criminal gangs etc. Not a good idea at all.
As I said earlier - the country as a whole needs educating regarding violence. Just what kind of pleasure does one get from a 'sport' where the intention is to hit someone else? Anywhere other than a Boxing ring and it's called ABH or GBH
Why do people box? Discipline. Control. Develops confidence Develops being able to handle a pressure situation. Over come fight or flight. Once you get in a ring even though everything screams otherwise knowing your going get chinned every other fear pales in comparison. It’s one of the hardest sports in the world to train for mentally and physically. Techniques, breathing, defending, tactics, gameplan. It’s not like going gym where you can slack off that last rep on the pig iron. Master boxing and you can do anything. You are judged from the moment you walk in the gym to the moment you leave. It’s a constant challenge to improve yourself, to prove your worth, to hold nothing back and give it all. It keeps you humble and your feet on the ground. You learn what your body is capable of. You learn respect, your fellow man, your coach, yourself. Camaraderie The boxing clubs in Sheffield do more to keep young kids off the streets and out of trouble than the council and police combined. They are community hubs especially in the rougher areas. The overwhelming number of kids going through the doors stay out of trouble as they get older. And birds dig boxers.... One last thing, it takes balls like melons to climb through those ropes knowing you will be getting slapped. Anyone who does, man woman or genderbender has my upmost respect.
Exactly. Which strongly suggests the rest of the sport would also go underground if banned, rather than disappear.
