Bit of rain never hurt anyone, get thissen artside Plus I've already done my 10k steps earlier this morning. I go out usually between 7-9 in the morning.
Whilst I'm not a depressive type, I always feel happier and more alive after either a 20-mile bike ride or a game of badminton. The positive power of exercise is often overlooked.
No worries, I'd rather you share how you're feeling and we can at least try and make you feel somewhat better than you not telling anyone.
That's right brush, although my days of a 20 mile bike ride are behind me after I came off a few years back head first and cracked both front teeth. Plus a busted lip, busted nose and a 3 inch gash across my chin. That's a story for another day though
She's a truly lovely person, I've actually known her since 1989 (we're members of a badminton club which was back then part of the NCB sports and social club where I worked at the time) but we only got together when we were both in the middle of our divorces. Modern life eh? Anyway, glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better, are you still doing the long-distance walking?
I refer you to my earlier post in reply to Stahlrost... Back in March we set the kitchen table up for table tennis and we still play most days, it was my best sport back at Dearne Youth club (Goldthorpe), I even played (briefly) for the Newcastle Polytechnic team in 1974.
Yes I am, although obviously less so in the winter months. It's not the weather itself that's the problem, with the correct gear you can go out in any weathers. The problem is the length of the days, which means a fast pace if you're going to get a reasonable distance done. I did the 75 mile Barnsley Boundary Walk (highly recommended) in July, and the 190 mile Coast to Coast Walk in September. I also did a short 2 day walk last week from Bamford to Edale, with a night in a tent up on Kinder Scout at a fine place called Madwoman's Stones! I was on my own but I fantasised all night about finding a mad woman to share my tent . Sadly, nobody appeared. That was an example of the problem cause by shorter days - I put my tent up at 5 as it was beginning to get dark, and packed up at 8 the next morning. It was a long time, and it was bloody freezing!
