Made his debut today, 4-0 down at half time, wondering if he even got a touch on the ball

He’d been written off and consigned to the scrap heap when he came back to us last time.
Proved his worth and achieved legend status. Should never have left as he did and belongs back at Barnsley.
He may well have drifted and lost fitness owing to fall-outs in recent times but coming home would bring the best out of him both on and off the pitch.
Not saying he’s going to be the free scoring flying winner of old but he remains an extremely talented footballer, dedicated to the cause with a huge amount of passion and experience to share with our young and hastily assembled squad which is currently plummeting straight back down to League 1.
Was a red. Will always be a red.

dedicated to the cause (what/whose cause?)

with a huge amount of passion and experience to share with our young and hastily assembled squad which is currently plummeting straight back down to League 1. (that's totally hypothetical)

Was a red. Will always be a red. (sentimental)

Don’t think his ability’s ever been in question. What’s going off upstairs has been the problem.

It seems like he’s only ever fulfilled his ability with us & on loan in Scotland. Logic suggests he should’ve been useless for us given that he was rubbish for Rotherham in league one a season before.

Adam is one of my all time favourite reds players. I'd even have him back on the playing staff to bring on the youngsters if his head and commitment are still right.
But to suggest he can still cut it in the Championship is nothing more than sentimental wishful thinking.

Hammill will go down as this generations glavin or redfearn for sure. Them 2 goals at Wembley will never be forgotten by any true reds fan. He kick started the promotion season when he came back and scored against york. The team seemed to get going after that. True reds legend but should be left at that. Will not comeback to the club anytime soon and defo not as a player....

Did I say he could cut it in the Championship? I said him leaving was more of a financial decision or owners wanting younger cheaper players. It wasn`t abart his ability whether it was good enough or not.
The question of which level is he upto playing in, well I`ll leave that to the know it all brigade.

Didn't say you did say he could. Others have though.

And you don't need to leave it to "the know it all brigade", you can just look at what he's doing on the pitch, which is jackshit.

Odd to see so many trashing one of the greatest players to ever pull on the shirt. Not sure where people get off on that.
