Leroy lita it was a sycastic I'd rather we didn't go down the lita, treacy, frimpong, reece brown route again has beens/never beens. I enjoy watching young hungry players develop at bfc.

Just wondered as I didn't think that example had been done to death enough.

Reece Brown was/is young and probably hungry. Unfortunately he just happened to be cack.

He was garbage we took him on trail and then deemed him good enough though. What is your take on the recruitment policy are you happy with it?

To a point. It's working well so far. My concern is that if we go on a bad run, do the players have the mental strength/experience to turn things round. I'd love to see us sign a Paul McShane type player - late 20s, lots of experience, still got a lot to offer and could work wonders with the younger players.

Edit - just to add this is not a criticism it is an observation and point for discussion.

Good point and can't disagree with that mcshane would have been a class signing. I think hammill is our old head but admittedly doesn't have the same experience as mcshane.

I agree. Roberts is a less 'attractive' proposition for perspective clubs than someone like Mawson and I would love him to stay here for many years as he is a terrific player and has improved significantly in the last six months. I was just saying that if there is a risk of him leaving, signing quality backups would reduce the pressure on us to sell. But of course I hope that doesn't happen and Robbo stays as long as he can here!

Yeah that's the approach we need to take even if we do suffer slightly on the field from time to time, it helps the club stay afloat and may bring in more fans if we continue with attractive football

I'd suggest we spend a fraction of what weve just received for Mawson and sign someone like Reece Burke. A young, hungry player who's got experience of playing at a decent level last season. Someone like him anyway.

My concern is if we lose Hourihane, Winnall, Scowen etc and replace them in the same vein weve replaced Mawson. Not that I'm saying MacDonald and Jackson wont be good players, but at this level we cant afford to be carrying players along all season while they find their feet, nevermind if we had 4/5 of them.
