Of all their 20/21 incoming deals they have been either frees or loans apart from an undisclosed fee paid for Ben Pearson who was put of contract in the Summer at Preston. Outgoing sales were about £92million for the likes of Ake Wilson Ramsdale Arter
Slightly off topic, but I'm still seething about his analysis of Frieser's goal. "it was too precise for him to have meant it".
Did you listen to the one I posted last week from Dean Hoyle? Very interesting. He spoke about money and fans expectations and was very complementary about us. At one point the interviewer mentioned Brentford’s as another club similar to us and Hoyle pointed out that they’re not, and that they’ve thrown a lot of money at it.
Bournmouth when they 1st got promoted to the Premiership sky enjoyed making them out to be little old bournmouth defying the odds. David and goliath story but in reality they were bankrolled by the Swiss billionaire now if the dont get back to the Premiership sharpish he better get his cheque book back out.
I had a conversation with a Wigan fan when they were going tits up last year. He thought losing money didn’t matter if they could sell a player for £10m to go towards covering the losses, not wiping them completely. The player in question went for peanuts as it happened. Bournemouth have sold some of their best players on the basis that they were good prem players last season, although not good enough to preserve their status. Those sales have helped balance the books for now, but with every passing season the value of their assets will decrease. Like others have said, you have to have something more secure than player sales to rely on. Several seasons in the top flight and they haven’t grasped the opportunity to grow the brand. Same stadium, same 11k turning up. Really poor business.
Bournemouth fans take on it. I think they are one of the more realistic fanbases considering the money they’ve seen. I think they realise things could go belly up for them very quickly. Appears they owe their owner £160m. https://bournemouth-forum.vitalfootball.co.uk/threads/accounts.13706/
Bournemouth's biggest mistake was not sticking with Howe really. I think they have now lost their way. Woodgate was a good player, but has proved to be a poor manager. I really don't see them going back up, even if they do make the playoffs.
It was such a bizarre thing to come out with. A striker, goal side of his marker, 8 yards from goal, didn't intentionally steer the ball past the goalkeeper with complete precision.
No I’ve not heard that. I think there’s a lot of lazy punditry with Brentford, they get talked about as overachieving minnows but they’ve spent a fortune
