I’m with you Hooky. Early seventies Slade Wizzard Sweet were the groups of the moment although Bowie and Alice Cooper were also high up on my approval list.
I’m actually listening to Mott The Hoople as we speak.

I must be in the advanced years of senility, as I consider Oasis 'modern stuff'. 80% of what I listen to is late 50s, 60s & early 70s. The other 20% is classical.

Saw Cast (again) couple of years back local to us too underated band of the era. Miles Hunt was always for me an underrated writer and performer for that time too.

Agree with all of that. You either like a band or you don’t. Doesn’t mean to say they are crap. As millions of fans would disagree. ( Brian Ferry apart :)) Seen many a support band that I now follow. Although only one who I thought were better than the headline act. ( been disappointed with several headliners) Thunder supported Journey at Sheffield.( But Having seen Journey several times. If that would have been the first it would have been the last. The sound system was dire that night)
If you or anyone like rock give Edenthorns EXIST album a listen, superb album imo. Brilliant Band from the NE. Voted one of the top newcomers on Planet rock.
My attitude changed as to who I thought were good or crap. Was when live aid 86 was on. I thought everyone were brilliant live. Not everything my cup of tea but still enjoyed listening. Bit like Robbie doing his crooning stuff if that makes sense. Not summat that Rod Stewart should have attempted mindst.
Would love to see Rick Ashley now. Not in his heyday his latest stuff is superb.
