I am happy, because as a Barnsley supporter, there are more important things in life than the success of my home town football club. What you describe has been my recurring experience since 1955, when at the age of seven I went to my first game. Owners, managers, coaches and players will come and go, the nearest to constants are the supporters (I say supporters in preference to fans). Even at my age I will no doubt, God willing, see many more owners, managers and players . I will also see most of the same people around me in the East stand for many years to come. Yes there are some 'bickering fans' but I honestly believe they are a minority. The majority are genuinely phlegmatic about following their Club. We are Barnsley, we are what we are, enjoy the craic. We will probably go down this season, so what we'll be back better and stronger. We may well stay up for a few more seasons 'to boot'. For me life is good, and has been, as a supporter of my Barnsley.

    Completely unhappy.

A club completely destroyed in about 8 weeks.

    Shambles.

TBF 12 months ago we still had twitchy bums cos Sunderland were definitely gonna catch us and we were heading for the playoffs.

and the consensus was that as we would be dropping into the playoffs, then Donny would be nicking the 3rd promotion place.

we weren’t safe till the last week of the season.

great as it was, we all have a tendency to see it through rose tinted specs.

    Unhappy.

Season completely wasted due to owners naivety, ignorance and incompetence and the team going backwards fast.

Once our main ‘stars’ are flogged off in the summer and replaced with further cheap European punts we could well struggle back in league 1, never mind automatic promotion.

Struber needs to learn some new tactics and fast, stop playing his mates who are pretty gash tbh, if not, f**k off back to Austria, very worrying indeed.

The general direction of the club is down because the board believe that on field success is secondary to profit generation through player sales. Youre one of the few fans who still believe the hype about the monetary wealth of the board being that of a small country without any real evidence of this apart from a few dubious articles. To the majority of fans they look like a set of chances who saw us sell a few players for a bit of cash and thought they could do it year after year sadly this season as proved they can't and I'm sure if things don't improve they will be off quicker than you can say best transfer window ever because they've invested nothing in the club not money not emotion nothing. As much as I disagreed with Cryne at least you knew he had an emotional as well as financial investment in the club.
